ii. There is confusion over Lady Chapman, the legal wife of TE's father,Thomas. Actually, her surname is depens on biographies. Jeremy Wilson, the authorised biographer, and John E. Mack * state that her surname is Hamilton. Another biographer Lawrence James ** says that her name is Elizabeth Hamilton Boyd, née Hamilton Boyd.
Furthermore, Mack, Desmond Stewart [B03] and Lawrence James wrote that she was a cousin of Thomas. However, I've found nothing specific how they related.

* On November 2015, I found all of the birthdays of daughters of G. R. Boyd [Col.George Augustus Rochfort-Boyd] of Middleton Park via family notices on the newspapers. Edith was born on 2 November 1847. Yes, she was 63 years old on 2 April 1911, the day of the 1911 Irish Census. She was an honest woman.
