Orde Wingate was a descendant of Maria Chapman, whose father William was the third son of Benjamin Chapman (c.1700-1779), and youngest brother of Sir Benjamin Chapman (1750-1810), 1st Bt. and Sir Thomas Chapman (1756-1837), 2nd Bt. Please do not confuse him with William Chapman (1812-1889), the grandfather of T. E. Lawrence. This William was a brother of T. E.'s great-grandfather. Though neither Burke's nor Debrett's has recorded his name under the Chapmans of Killua Castle, I have come to the above conclusion, after gathering up the following information.

Mary Ethel Stanley was the eldest daughter of Captain Orde Browne (1838-1900), who was the second son of Colonel Benjamin Chapman Brown (1798-1853) of Stouts Hill, Gloucester. He was the only son of Captain Thomas Browne (d.1803) of Hinckley, Leicester, and Maria Chapman.

* Thanks to the British Newspaper Archive, I found a few articles which mentioned William Chapman, Esq., together with Sir Benjamin or Sir Thomas on newspapers published at Dublin in the 1780's. There is no doubt William Chapman existed.
Furthermore, I found William of Irish member of parliament, for Borough of Athboy. Athboy is where Killua Castle, the country home of the Chapmans placed. His brother Sir Benjamin was M. P. for County Westmeath. [ link to 1779 list ]
The above cutting image is from the 1781 list (On the web, only 1779 & 1781 lists included his name were found). His name was on a list of “new members” of the Irish House of Commons at a Saunders's News-Letter dated 24 June 1776. He held his seat until 1883 [Wikipedia: Athboy].
Miss Chapman of Info 3 was not Maria, but her sister Mary Anne or Marianne, who secondly married Edward Wells Bell at Dublin in 1820. (her grave at Kempsey, Worcestershire). Their marriage announcement were found on some newspapers on which Marianne had been described as “niece of Sir Thos. Chapman, Bart.”

* Yes, three sons, Benjamin, Thomas, William. Two daughters, Elizabeth (d.1767), who became the second wife of Riley Towers, Esq. barrister-at-law of Dublin, and Henrietta Chapman, baptized on 23 Dec 1764.
On the other hand, The Peerage, Baronetage, and Knightage of the British Empire, 1882 ed. said that Benjamin had two sons and a daughter by Ann Tighe [p.113]. This means, I imagine that, Henrietta died very young, and William died in a compromising situation? ... William vanished into the fog.

After Captain Thomas Browne died in 1803, Maria Browne (née Chapman) remarried Charles Ward Orde. Their marriage certificate dated 8 Dec 1808 shows the names of the two of witnesses: Benjamin Chapman and Isabella Chapman.

* I suggest that uncle Benjamin put his signature on the certificate because Maria's father, William had already passed away. Then, who was Isabella Chapman? It is likely that she was Maria's mother or mother-in-law, widow of William. Incidentally, I've found a death announcement of wife of William Chapman, Esq, on a newspaper dated 17 Feb. 1787. Her name was Mrs. Martha Chapman, another mother-candidate. By the by, this second marriage of Maria to the Orde family gave Orde Wingate his first name.

Sir Benjamin Chapman, is succeeded in his estates by his only surviving brother, Sir Thomas Chapman, Bart.

* “His only surviving brother” suggests that Sir Benjamin had another brother who had died before 1810. The same Saunders's News-Letter, one of Dublin's established newspapers, dated 06 April 1789 told that William Chapman, Esq. died at Scarreen [sic]. This William might have been our William. (You can read this notice at The Gentleman's and London Magazine, 1789)

* John Chapman must have meant William Chapman. Burke's still had this mistake when I searched the web edition of Burke's Landed Gentry in 2010.

* Another William Chapman was here. Desmond's parents got married on 28 Feb 1877 at Dublin. The Green Room Book; or, Who's Who on the Stage, 1907 ed. informs that his mother Katie Anna was grand-niece of Sir Benjamin Chapman (1810-1888), 4th Baronet, T. E.'s great-uncle. However, I've found nothing confirmed this claim yet.
